Why Gaboon Vampire?

It was a fake answer to some question on "To Tell The Truth" that Soupy Sales gave in the 1960s. And he drew a crude drawing that's pretty close, to my recollection to what I have reproduced here.

If you do a google search for "Gaboon Vampire", what you get is the Gabonese Vampire Shrimp, which is very popular among aquarists.
